Press Release

February 2023

Stella Technology, a leading global healthcare IT company, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Wah in Pakistan to foster closer collaboration between academia and industry. The MoU aims to foster collaboration between Stella Technology and the University of Wah in various areas, including:

  1. Providing relevant internships and job opportunities to students.
  2. Conducting research and development projects which will enable students to gain practical experience and industry exposure, while providing Stella with innovation opportunities around AI and data science.
  3. Enabling faculty to work at and with Stella to better understand industry needs, in order to bridge the gaps between the professional world and academia.
  4. Promoting ongoing exchange between the two organizations through thematic seminars, meetups and speaking opportunities.

The MoU signing was preceded by a discussion with the students on career opportunities in areas such as data science, AI and cybersecurity. In addition, the team highlighted the importance of effective communication, problem-solving, time management and many other soft skills that will help students to become successful professionals. We stressed on how self-belief and self-confidence can enable them to achieve any goal they put their mind to.

It was very refreshing to see so many female students around the campus and at the seminar. Promoting Women in Tech and female leadership in technology is a focus of our work here at Stella, and we applaud the University's efforts to attract and promote future generations of women engineers.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Registrar, Brig. Haroon Abbas Khan (Retd.), the Dean/HoD Computer Science, Dr. Wazir Zada Khan, the Lecturer, Mr. Muhammad Hamza Azam, the CS faculty and staff, as well as all the students for their thoughtful and warm reception at the campus.

We look forward to a fruitful collaboration with the University of Wah!
